The city of Reguengos de Monsaraz, in Alentejo, a region in the south of Portugal, has significantly increased its capacity for selective collection of solid urban waste by installing 14 recycling banks, with Lasso's Green Bee full underground containers, to which three containers for mixed waste have been added. In total, there are 45 full underground containers with capacities ranging from 3m³ to 5m³ that reinforce or replace obsolete surface containers and increase the network of recycling banks available for selective waste.
"This is another specific case where Lasso successfully integrates one more municipality application into a funded project whose primary objective is to achieve the recycling goals set by PERSU 2020, while simultaneously reducing waste management costs. This means that our containerization solutions effectively meet these objectives, due to its user-friendly features, easy access, ergonomics, robustness, operational efficiency and great capacity ", explains Pedro Martins da Costa, Lasso’s CEO.
With the new Green Bee recycling banks, the municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz intends to encourage the selective collection of waste from its residents in order to meet the recycling targets dictated by the European Union. In addition, containers dedicated to packaging have a canine waste bag dispenser, a new feature that enhances urban cleaning and represents a fundamental support for compliance with good citizenship practices.
"With the new Lasso recycling banks, we have increased installed capacity for selective collection and minimized waste collection costs. At the same time, these containers are part of our urban requalification project, with an aesthetic that allows them a perfect adaptation to the surrounding space ", says Miguel Singéis, Councilor for the Environment of the Reguengos de Monsaraz Municipal Council.
